Snapchat Plus Solar System Meaning

If you and your friend both have Best Friends status, and you have Snapchat Plus, you’ll see a “Best Friends” badge with a gold ring around it on their profile. When you tap on it, you’ll see your position in their “friend solar system” where they are the sun, and you’re one of the planets.
Snapchat+ Friend Solar Systems let you see your place in your friends’ “Best Friends” lists. Each planet shows a different level or rank, helping you know how close you are to them on Snapchat. This feature is only available if you have a Snapchat+ subscription.
How It Works
Best Friends:
If you see the “Best Friends” badge, it means you’re one of the top 8 people that someone chats with the most on Snapchat.
Planets:
Each person’s Best Friends list is shown with planets, and each planet stands for a different friend’s spot in the list.
See Your Rank:
When you tap on the “Best Friends” badge, you’ll see which planet you are in that person’s Solar System, showing how close you are to them.
Visual Display:
Snapchat uses this planet view to show your rank in a fun and visual way, so it’s easier to understand.
Snapchat+ Needed:
You need a Snapchat+ subscription to use this feature.
Turn On or Off:
You can turn the Friend Solar System on or off in Snapchat+ settings anytime, according to Snapchat Support.
What do the planets show in the Friend Solar System?
Each planet represents how close you are to them compared to their other friends:
- Mercury = #1 Best Friend (closest)
- Venus = #2
- Earth = #3
- … and so on down to Neptune = #8
The closer the planet is to the sun, the higher you rank as a friend.
Example:
If you’re someone’s #1 Best Friend, you’ll be their “Sun.” If you’re #2, #3, and so on, you’ll be shown as one of the planets like Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, etc.
On Snapchat Plus, the Solar System feature is a way to show how close you are to a particular best friend. It’s a fun, visual way of ranking your friendship based on how often you interact.
Important Notes
- This is only visible to Snapchat+ subscribers.
- It reflects their ranking of you, not necessarily your ranking of them.
- If you’re not in their top 8 friends, you won’t see a planet.
